How does your private Herpes STD testing work?
For our Herpes STD screening, you will only need to provide a blood sample. No preparation is needed so you there is no need to fast or do anything beforehand. No exam is required either, so you don't have to worry about undressing or swabbing.
One tube of blood will be drawn from you at the lab center. We use this sample to complete a CDC-recommended type specific Herpes test, which screens for antibodies to both Herpes Testing type I and type II viruses in your blood, indicating an infection. Herpes Testing method can differentiate between the two different strains of the Herpes virus.
Why choose our private Herpes testing method as your preferred STD testing option?
The Herpes STD screening is recommended if you believe you have been exposed to either the Herpes Type I or Type II virus within the past 6 weeks. Exposure occurs via unprotected sexual contact. The Herpes testing is recommended as part of your standard sexual health practices, especially if you have had unprotected sex with a partner that is infected.
We recommend waiting approximately 4-6 weeks following the potential exposure before taking a Herpes testing. The virus may be detectable in as little as three weeks following exposure, but results are more accurate after a 4-6 week window. We also suggest taking a subsequent follow-up screening three months after exposure to confirm the results.
