The number of instances of 3 key STD developed for the past year. This is the first time it happened since 2006, according to the very much concerned health officials in the U.S. in an interview held on Nov. 17 last year.  In 2014, there were 14M cases of chlamydia that were reported, while a 2% increase in 2013. This is the highest number of instances on record of the rates of STD that was reported to the CDC by the researchers of the government during the yearly report. The considerable increase was also recorded at the rates of syphilis at around 15%. The rates of the syphilis were the highest by far among bisexuals and gay; this is according to the CDCs yearly report.

In the past years, they have seen declines in some of the diseases while there is an increase in the others on the record. However, they were very much concern about the disturbing rise in the case of chlamydia, syphilis as well as gonorrhea according to the researcher.  In 2014, there were more than 350,000 cases of gonorrhea on record; there was a rate of around 111:100,000 people. More so, there were around 20,000 cases of syphilis, while a rate of 6 in every 100,000. The STDs may affect young men and women the most. On the other hand, the ever growing rates among men show a big part of the entire growth all of the STDs.

The immediate need of STD patients

They are very much concerned with the rising rates of STD in men, the researcher added. Men are spreading disease that led to the growing rate. There is an immediate need to deal with the growing rate as seen on record.  Syphilis among bisexuals and gay has been increasing since 2000. In 2014, the men recorded for 83% of the reported cases among men if the sex partner is known. More than ½ of the men with syphilis in 2014 were also HIV positive.  There is also a proof that bisexuals and gay are close when it comes to the growing rate of gonorrhea as well as chlamydia.

In spite of the fact that younger individuals are still highly affected by the STD, according to the researcher, in 2014, people ages 15-24 are responsible for 2/3 of the reported instances of chlamydia as well as gonorrhea. This when compared to the past estimates that younger individuals get ½ of the rough estimation of more than 20M fresh cases of STDs in America.  While the STDs can be prevented and can be treated, the access to the clinics has shared the spreading of the disease in the past.
